Delicious Morsels

Proverbs 18:8

"The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels, they go down into the inner parts of the body. "

The words of a whisperer A whisperer is someone who speaks very softly, you have to listen more carefully and intently to hear them speaking. For me this is a reminder to have softness and quiet in my speech. I also see this in how we act and work, not loud and boisterous making a big deal of all we do, but simply quietly and unassuming, being humble in our speech and actions.

Are like delicious morsels Having words that touch the soul like a delicious morsel. Who hasn’t had that feeling of a bite of something so good and amazing it fills your mouth with joy! Words do have that power to fill us with joy and when they do they are delicious not only to the receiver of the words but also for the one speaking those words. God is glorified in both the giving and receiving of words whispered – He is the delicious morsel.

They go down into our inner parts of the body. These sweet divine words whispered to us fill us up into the depths of our souls and we shine! The soft unassuming words both spoken and heard fill us where we likely did not know we were hungry.

Having worked through this, these whispered words are the words of God. We can hear them if we are listening intentionally and our hearts are open. They will fill us! So today I challenge myself to speak softly and carefully to other and myself in humbleness - seeking only to glorify God. More importantly keeping my ears, heart and mind open to hear God in all things, in all times, He is with us and speaking to us ALWAYS! We simply need to listen for the words of the Whisperer and then enjoy the sweet morsels as they fill our own mouths with joy and satisfaction, yet longing for more – like and amazing chocolate chip cookie, only so much better. Then allowing those words to fill the very caverns of our souls with grace and peace!

Dig in!

Deuteronomy 32:1 “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak, let the earth hear the words of my mouth.”
Joshua 3:9 “And Joshua said to the people of Israel, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.”
